MLO REFLECTIVE NARRATIVE
Here is the description for the MLO: Students define cultural concepts and apply their knowledge to contrast Spanish cultures with another second culture. The viewpoints, modes of thought, behavioral norms, and cultural artifacts of a second culture distinct from Hispanic cultures will be examined by students, who will also draw links between them. This MLO is fulfilled by JAPN 314 Japanese Visual Culture and Media, which I took in spring 2022. The class was taught by Professor Dr. An Pham. The course description focused on analysis of historical and modern Japanese society through works of art and media including photography, film, maps, and other visual documents in order to learn to extract information from images as part of a visual analysis.
